Follow the N2 in the direction of Wilderness. Continue past the Wilderness Village and over the Touws River bridge. Approximately 5km further you will go past the Astron garage. Continue for approximately 12.4kms and look out for a sign to your left: “Swartvlei”. Turn left and follow the tarred road onto a paved road (along the lake). Cross over the railroad/stop sign and turn left at the T-junction marked “Wilderness / Karatara”. From the gravel road continue for 1km to “The Middle Earth Gate” to The Funny Farm Shire on your right.

From Knysna

Follow the N2 in the direction of George. Travel through the town of Sedgefield. From the Engen garage continue for approximately 3.5kms and look out for a sign “Swartvlei”. Turn right  and follow the tarred road onto a paved road (along the lake). Cross over the railroad/stop sign and turn left at the T-junction marked “Wilderness / Karatara”. From the gravel road continue for 1km to “The Middle Earth Gate” to The Funny Farm Shire on your right.

Term & Conditions

We will not be held responsible for any damage to vehicles or loss of property, neither to any injuries to yourself, family, friends or pets whilst staying on or outside of our premises.

  • Minimum of 2 nights stay (5 nights in December/January peak season)
  • Rates subject to change
  • If guests want additional people to stay, the cost is R300 per person during peak season and R250 per person for the rest of the year

Cancellation policy:

No show or cancellation within 14 days of stay – No refund

Cancellation between 15 and 30 days before stay – 25% of the deposit will be refunded

Cancellation between 30 and 60 days before stay – 50% of the deposit will be refunded

Cancellation more than 60 days before stay – Full refund

 

Please Note:

Daily rates will be reduced depending on the length of stay. The self-catering house includes the use of all appliances, bed linen, towels, cutlery/ crockery, as well as the braai area and walks on the nature trails and property. There is no TV or WiFi available, but WiFi can be arranged at the owner’s dwelling.
